Top Five GTA V Mods Of The Week #4

Welcome back to another edition of my top five GTA V mods of the week. This week is going to be less serious, I think I’ve exhausted the supply of serious mods. Therefore let it be known that this week is now the ‘Fun Week’ edition!

Disclaimer: These aren’t ordered in 5 to 1 being worst to best, they are just a collection of mods that I personally think are the five best that I have used throughout this week. I would also like to remind everyone that mods aren’t 100% safe and that I’m not responsible for any infectious malware or virus’ installed on your computer by downloading any of the mods featured here. I’m also not responsible for breaking your game or yourself getting banned from the server for playing Online with mods.

5 – Drug Trafficking By Guadmaz

cfc73d-GTA5 2015-06-06 18-14-24-21

Another mode here by the user responsible for such lovable mods as the Ambulance mini-missions and the train mini-missions. Here, Guadmaz has taken inspiration from GTA: Chinatown to re-interpret the drug trafficking missions that were scrapped early on in the development of Grand Theft Auto V.

Overall it has positive community feedback with a few reports of the game being tricky to install. However those users resolved their problems by re-installing Script Hook V. I reaaly like this mod and I’m excited to see where development is headed!

4 – LSC Vehicle Colours Index By sp4c3m4n

955c39-LSC Vehicle Colour Index Preview

This next mod isn’t necessarily a mod and I was torn about whether or not it should be included in this list, but what the heck, it’s the ‘Fun Week’ anyway!

This is a super duper handy mod from sp4c3m4n. It lays out all the colour options available for vehicles from Los Santos Customs. Showing what the colours look like in-game as well as their in-game names, allowing for seamless colour picking and choosing some awesome colour combinations. This has already showed me a few colours that I had never noticed before that I really like, and I’m sure it will do the same for you too!

3 – The Flash Mod By Kokolaty

a09ec6-v-2015-05-25-23h54m26s26

Ever wondered why native trainer doesn’t let you run fast enough? Then this is the perfect mod for you! As you have probably guessed by now this mod allows you to run as fast (or near enough) as the Flash himself! It’s just a really silly, fun mod that allows you to run super fast everywhere! However it doesn’t feel as good as the super run ability from Saints Row IV.

However why doesn’t it contain a Flash constume?

2 – The Flash [Texture Mod] By IIZACHARIAHII

184ebc-1

Combining this, with the previous mod can lead to some super funny events. This is one of the best re-texture mods out there currently and it seems like the community is once again really into Superhero re-textures as the number one downloaded player texture is the Superman mod.

As said previously combining this mod with the previous Flash running mod can lead to some super funny moments. Once my friend came round and couldn’t  stop laughing at my screen as I ran around the world in red spandex!

1 – Nice Fly By chileno

8edd80-2015-05-08_00004

I’ve been holding off doing this mod for some time now and I can’t really tell you why. I keept seeing it as it stays around the number three spot in the most downloaded section and I kept thinking “I must try that some day!”. Well, I can tell you, that day has well and truly come.

If you couple this with the Superman re-texture mod that I mentioned in the mod above, then you can have some really fun times. This mod allows you to fly through the skies of Los Santos in a new way, without a vehicle! It’s really fun and the contols are relatively easy to master. It’s definitely a fun mod worth a look out!

Top Five GTA V Mods Of The Week #3

Welcome back to another edition of my top five GTA V mods of the week. I have selected a wide variety of mod this week for us to take a look at, ranging from

Disclaimer: These aren’t ordered in 5 to 1 being worst to best, they are just a collection of mods that I personally think are the five best that I have used throughout this week. 5 – Zombies By CamxxCore

666a34-2015-05-29_00006

This is one of those fun mods that you probably won’t want to have on 24/7 so I’d recommend first of all pairing it with this simple to use mod loader that I mentioned in the first edition of this series. Moving on, this mod is very reminiscent of Call of Duty Zombies. You will have to fight the little critters in waves, at the moment the waves go up to 30 however it is still currently in beta and the mod author plans to increase this in the future.

It has a very simple installation method and this has contributed to the overall very positive community feedback that the author has received from the GTA V modding community. To start the zombie waves all you have to do is press Z and the mode will initiate. I prefer this mod to its doppleganger (Grand Theft Zombies) as it puts you into a survival mode, much like Call of Duty, rather than having zombies spawn randomly five at a time for you to attack as the other mod does.

Overall, a super fun mod that I’ve been enjoying on and off for the past week or so!

4 – QF Mod Menu By quickfingers

46e6ac-mod_menu1

I have switched from the standard trainer that comes with Script Hook V to this for a number of reasons. Firstly it is more stacked in features, it has many different modes that you can put your character into and allows slow motion, with the promise of greater things to come from the author. Secondly, it organises the vehicles in GTA V based on their class, rather than having them placed in order of when they were added to the game as the native trained did. This infuriated me because when I was in director mode and I wanted a certain car to film, it was really hard to find that certain car in the way that the vehicles were organised.

It is a fully modular system which supports both keyboard and controller and contains the author’s own Gravity gun mod built in.

Overall superb improvement on the original Native trainer that most people still use. Consider upgrading to this one for better features and more of them!

3 – Telekinesis By DaveA93

19c0a7-2015-05-27_00008

Another fun mod right here! This is the Telekinesis mod and it allows you to pick stuff up and throw it around, with your mind! Who wouldn’t want to do that? It’s a great mod and well thought out, featuring a small indicator at the bottom left of the screen showing what you can pick up, plus the power and range of your throw. I’ve already caused some pretty apocalyptic scenes with it and I’m sure you will too.

2 – Ambulance Mini-Missions By Guadmaz

d4c9c9-GTA5 2015-05-09 01-54-46-78

This mod author is responsible for not only this mod but the oh so famous trucking missions that everyone has been sinking their teeth into. As you have probably guessed by now, this mod makes ambulance missions available to the player as there were in previous Grand Theft Auto games. To start the mod you simply have to enter an ambulance and press 2, this will start the mod and trigger your news missions. However it’s not all fun and games being an ambulance driver. Drive too quick and there is a chance that you’ll loose control and the patient will die, however drive too slowly and there is an equal chance that the patient will die before you make it to the hospital. You are rewarded based on the level and how much health the patient has when they arrive at the hospital.

1 – Police Mod By dehan

82a999-GTA5 2015-05-03 00-05-51-92

Another great mission mod here, this time for the Police by dehan. Here you change your skin to a police officer, get yourself a sideki…. I mean partner, grab yourself some weapons and roll out in your chosen vehicle and bust some criminals! It’s super fun to see GTA V from a different angle and I’d recommend that each and every one of you try this out at some point. It gives some refreshing gameplay so that when you’ve had enough of being a law enforcer, you can stroll back out again in your baller to run down some pedestrians, or you know, what ever it is you do…

Top Five GTA V Mods Of The Week #2

Here it is! Two days late but still here. I’ll explain my absence in a Site Update post later on today and explain why there has been a lack of posts recently.

5 – Heist Vehicles Spawn Naturally In Single Player

17c34d-heist2

This mod is great fun for those of you who love the special vehicles that you can gain from the heists in GTA Online. It allows you to gain them in the single player campaign by having the spawn within the world. It also has a map on the GTA 5 mods page showing where you can go to obtain certain vehicles.

What’s new in 2.0:
-Add more vehicle types to spawn
-NPCs now drive some vehicles around certain areas of the map (See photo for locations)
-Slightly improved algorithm for spawning

I like this mod, however I do have a few gripes with it. I was never able to save one of the special heist vehicles into my garage with any of the single player characters. On exiting the garage the game would always freeze on the loading screen and crash. I have tried reinstalling the mod multiple times, however it does not seem to fix that issue, so bear that in mind when installing the mod!

4 – Mission Only/Rare Vehicles Spawn Naturally In Single Player

2cf561-rare

Another mod by the same author here that does much the same thing. It sets vehicles that you can only drive in  special missions in the single player campaign, or rare vehicles to spawn naturally within the world.

What’s new in 2.0:
-18 New Vehicles
-10 New Special Vehicles

It does not come with a picture map like its counterpart, however it does come with some Youtube videos showing where to get the special and rare vehicles. I experienced the same problem with this mod as I did with the one before. I was unable to save the vehicles into my garages with the single player characters. I attempted to reinstall the mod to see if that would fix it, however it did not.

3 – Instant Customs

ccc4ca-1

This is a bit of a fun one really. I love this for use in director mod in GTA V. Seeing as you cannot upgrade on the fly I use this mod in conjunction with Script Hook V to create some pretty awesome scenes. The feature that I love most about it though is the ability to create stunning paint jobs for cars on the fly, rather that having to hit the randomise pain job button for Script Hook V.

Update 1.0.2:
-Paint type menu extended (primary, secondary…)
-Neon option added
-Paint Job is now Color Menu

This mod allows you to Upgrade any Car to the maximum possible. You can Upgrade all parts at once or just the Engine (Engine, Brakes, Transmission, Suspension, Turbo), the performance Parts (Spoiler, Exhaust), the cosmetic parts (Bumpers, Sideskirts, Frame, Grill, Hood, Fenders, Roof, Xenon), the safety Features (Armor, Shooting save tires). This mod also ,makes you able to fix, clean and paint your car, to add neon or change the paint type (Metallic etc.). The color menu can be extended by own colors (look at main.lua).

2 – Customize Plate

40fba5-screenshot

This mod may seem quite insignificant, but it is totally awesome! Just like in Euro Truck Simulator 2, there is something really cool about driving around with a personalized number plate!

What’s new in 1.2.2:
-Fixed conflicting keys while making plates
-Fixed mod conflicting with in game slow motion at times
-Plates should save now
-Added version for non-QWERTY keyboards

1 – Carmageddon Mod

77e4e8-mayhem

I’m still playing this and I’m probably going to keep it on! It’s awesome if you’re bored of what single player has to offer. This is a mod that makes all the cars in the world go bonkers! It has a few thousand downloads on the GTA 5 mods website, but it definitely needs more! It has made me laugh hard so many times and I just love it to pieces!

UPDATE:

  • Changed controls(see below)
  • Added menu UI instead of prints to show what mode is active
  • Car missiles are controlled independently of other options
  • Ability to increase/decrease force applied to vehicles
  • Uses a different (better) method for finding vehicles that includes emergency vehicles and aggressive drivers

Top Five GTA V Mods Of The Week #1

GTAV_PC_4K.10

I said that I was considering doing this as a series on weekly posts on a Sunday and here it is. I had to find something to fill this slot as not very much happens during weekends in the Video Games industry!

5 – Army & Federal Response

1e7732-c6848e-army_response

This mods is very simple. Back in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, if you got a five star wanted level, the Military would show up to put you down. This feature was taken out and now in GTA V the Military only exist at Fort Zancudo. This mod brings back the feature from GTA: SA.

ARMY RESPONSE TEAMS :

  • 3 Crusaders Jeeps with 4-Men Tactical Team
  • 2 Insurgents LPV with 4-Men Tactical Team
  • 1 Barracks Truck with 4-Men Tactical Team
  • 2 Annihilators equiped with Heavy Machine Guns
  • 1 Tactical Rhino Tank
  • 5 Tactical Lazer Fighter Jets Air Force Team when in Air
  • 1 Tactical Buzzard shooting with Main Gun

FEDERAL RESPONSE TEAMS :

  • 2 Riot Armored Trucks with a Tactical SWAT Team
  • 5 FIB Buffalos with 4 Federal FIB Agents equiped with SMGs and BP vests.
  • 3 IAA cruisers with 4 Elite IAA Agents armed with AP Pistols
  • 1-2 Eyes in the Sky Helicopters from Police Department.

I love this mod so much. It adds a whole new dimension to trying to get rid of your five star wanted level. It makes it so much harder. I enjoyed the challenge that it gave me and getting rid of that wanted level with this mod installed makes it so much more enjoyable.

4 – GTA V Mod Manager

e91db3-screeenshot

This mod is one that you will certainly need if you plan to balance playing with mods in single player and hopping into Online mode. It’s a very simple launcher that allows you to activate and de-activate single mods that you don’t want in your game or turn them all off when you want to play online. There is a full list of features below.

Features:

  • Mods are always stored in an external folder, never in the GTAV directory
  • importing dot net mods and lua mods will automatically import to their correct folder
  • Mod location is configurable
  • Specific mods can be toggled on and off
  • Firewall rules are created to block GTA5.exe from the internet while mods are enabled
  • Social Club is automatically set to offline mode when mods are enabled
  • Mods can be automatically removed as soon as you quit the game (configurable)
  • Config files can be edited directly in the manager
  • Ability to rename mods to friendly names (double click name to edit)
  • GTA5.exe high priority tweak one-click enabler
  • Online Mode which automatically disables all mods and opens the firewall
  • Drag and drop installation of mods (UAC enabled Windows 8+ does not allow this at this time)
  • Uninstall/Delete mods from within the manager
  • Automatic update notifications ( auto updates now live)
  • RPF Installation Wizard! Easily swap between vanilla and modded RPF files

Additionally to this it comes with a link to a thread detailing how to use the launcher!

3 – Realistic Top Speed Mod

GTAV_PC_4K.1

This mod is a lot of fun. If you feel like all of the high end super cars feel too similar, or just aren’t fast enough, then this is the mod for you! This mod changes the top speeds for cars in GTA V to be more realistic to their real world counterparts. The main reason I’m featuring this mod is because it made driving through the city fun and challenging, and that’s something that I really love in a game. After playing GTA V for more than 50 hours I found the driving mechanics to be really easy t control, however this mod adds a whole new spin on it and I really love it.

2 – Open All Interiors

3433ff-smaller

This is a great aesthetic mod. It lets you go back into previously closed off areas of the map, such as the Life Invader building as well as many others. I like it, it’s not game changing but it certainly adds a depth to the game.

What does it do?:
1. This mod opens up pretty much every interior in the game files with fully functional doors too. In many of the interiors, there are pedestrians inside also!
2. Some interiors which were cut from the game (but still in the game files) are also included!
3. The mod puts a marker at the location of every interior on the map too, as well as the locations of the stores you can rob (all toggleable by holding F7 until you hear a click)!
4. I’ve added 2 working elevators to the FIB building also, which teleport you to the upper floors of the building.

1 – Script Hook V + Native Trainer

11dba9-script-hook-1

You’re going to need this to play 95% of the mods currently available for GTA V. The author, Alexander Blade is constantly maintaining the mod and after it was broken by a recent GTA V patch, he patched his mod within a matter of hours! It comes with handy installation instructions and is compatible with the mod manager that was mentioned earlier. Although cheaty. The trainer is a lot of fun to play with, and I’ve used it to create a couple of scenes with the Rockstar Editor in Director Mode. Seeing as Director Mode is lacking in features, such as the ability to spawn things in on command, this may be the best route for you if you’re thinking of making cinematic movies with these tools.
